MDMA-Assisted Therapy Music Workshop
Tuesday June 20, 2023 1:00pm – 5:00pm MDT
This workshop has reached capacity and is sold out.
The safety and efficacy of MDMA-assisted therapy is currently under investigation. It has not yet been approved by the FDA or other regulatory authorities, does not work for everyone, and carries risks even in therapeutic settings.
Additional registration fee applies.
This workshop will give clinicians interested in pursuing MDMA-Assisted Therapy a deep-dive into a critical feature of experiential sessions: “music”.
The presenters bring case examples and first-hand experience from their work on the MAPS-sponsored MDMA-assisted psychotherapy clinical trials. They will touch on core principles regarding the therapeutic functions of music, explain how they create playlists that are conducive to MDMA sessions, and go over strategies for facilitating music to support a variety of therapeutic processes.
To get a glimpse into music’s power and therapeutic influence, workshop participants will listen to an arch of songs curated by MAPS MDMA-assisted therapists after they have been guided into a meditative state. They will also have the opportunity to workshop their own playlists that they can utilize in their current or future psychedelic-assisted therapy work.
Interactive discussions and Q&A sessions will be included throughout the day.
